Prerequisites: Basic understanding of plant biology or small-scale farming
Methodology: Interactive lectures, hands-on system assembly & management, nutrient preparation workshops, group design exercise & business planning, field visit
2. Learning Objectives
• Explain the core principles and benefits of hydroponics
• Design and build common hydroponic systems (NFT, DWC, ebb & flow)
• Formulate and adjust nutrient solutions (pH, EC management)
• Select, germinate, and transplant crops suited for hydroponics
• Monitor and control environmental parameters (light, temperature, humidity)
• Diagnose and remedy nutrient deficiencies and pests
• Harvest, grade, and package produce for market
• Draft a simple business plan and ROI model for a hydroponic farm
